As you may be aware, the Lexmark E260d is a basic laser printer that will make it easier to covert from inkjet printing. If you have never owned a Lexmark printer, then you might be surprised by some of the issues that will come up. That said, many people today still choose the Lexmark E260d because it is cheaper than other devices with similar features produced by other manufacturers.

What Users like about the product

·    speedy printing
·    doesn't jam

Daniel Thomas – I run a high production home office, and was very pleased to see how fast the Lexmark X264dn is able to complete each batch of printing. It works well no matter what program I use or the complexity of the printing. This is especially valuable to me when I want to print checks or other forms.

Adonna Yosuf  - I have had so many printers in the past that jam up nonstop. The Lexmark X264dn is a true pleasure to work with in this capacity.  At least I am not spending all my time having to re-orient the paper or hearing horrible sounds as the printer tries to do so, on its own.

What users don't like about the product

·    cannot print from manual feeder
·    toner hog

Bob Williams – I was very disturbed to find that I could not simply add one sheet of paper at a time to the manual feeder.  This is very important to me, as I often print small jobs at once that require different forms, and do not want to assemble them before putting the whole batch in the printer. I also found this printer very clumsy and cumbersome to work with.

Janet Green – Even though I realize many printers need extra ink to do a good job, the Lexmark X264dn is really worse than the norm. I was hoping to save money on ink, plus overall cost, but it does not seem like this printer will suit that need. I also found that this printer does not work as well on the market as others that have a similar dpi rating. Images are blurrier and ink saturation is also quite messy.

Recommendations – Overall, we feel the Lexmark X264dn is somewhat suited to high production jobs and the home office environment. However, if the cost of ink will be a problem, the lack of jams and increased speed may not be of much use. You should evaluate these criteria carefully, and then compare to other models that might be better for your needs.
