Laser Printer Toner
While anyone who has ever worked in an office knows how frustrating it is to run out of ink, running out of
printer toner can be just as disruptive. Many larger offices now use laser printers and photocopiers to produce large numbers of documents at a time. Unlike smaller printers that one would have in a home office, these larger devices run on toner rather than ink. Conserving toner can be a solid way to cut business expenses.
1. Try shaking the
printer toner cartridge.
This seems like one of those silly old remedies, like blowing into a video game cartridge. But actually, shaking the cartridge can extend the life of the toner for a little bit longer. When noticing a drop in printout quality, try this in case of emergency. Nonetheless, always have extra
toner cartridges on hand.
2. Limit the amount of printing.
This is a more obvious solution, but also one of the best. Not only are you saving money by limiting the use of toner; you’re also saving money on all the unnecessary duplicate copies that inevitably end up in the recycle bin. Encourage everyone to only hit the print button once.
Keeping an eye on toner levels is an important part of keeping an office running smoothly.
